Blocks on the Way
I mailed my blocks to all five winners today at noon.
Since last month, the postal clerk shared that Canadian customs often holds up mail, when I got to the counter today, I asked if they knew anything about the slow mail to Mexico. It was a different person behind the counter. All she could tell me was what her computer told her … that it would take 10-15 days. Since the block I mailed to Mariella a month ago still isn’t there, I’d say they might need to update their estimates.
I also asked if she had any ideas about how come USPS in some parts of the country seems to be charging significantly more (3 X ) to send the same contents to the same addresses as the rest of the US. She skated around a little, talked about having to pay more to send mail to remote areas (which I don’t even believe is true), but obviously didn’t have a clue.
Sophie,
One thing that just struck me….when thinking about my blocks and their slow arrival……we had Semana Santa here (that’s really 2 weeks of the huge huge holiday of Easter – which down here Easter is bigger than Christmas) so this is very likely the reason for my blocks being so slow to arrive. With this in mind I’m very hopeful that soon my blocks should begin to arrive, I hope, I hope, I hope!!!
I’ll bet you’re right. It will be interesting to see if the rest of your star chain blocks arrive in a bunch now that life is returning to normal there … and if you get your April blocks faster. Fingers crossed here for you.
