With chevrons coming in, I thought I’d better get this going.   I have to get some muslin for a back.   I wanted a very random look.  I’ll free motion quilt with acorns in the small squares and make myself do an all over pattern.   I had a multi-colored batik fabric in dark autumnal colors that works well....

I came home late this afternoon to find a wonderful surprise, an envelope from Rachel with exquisite leaf blocks!  Many thanks to all the block-makers, I look forward to putting them together sometime in the New Year, which for us here in South Africa is in 10 minutes!

Julie, I’m so sorry to be so late!! I put the basket in the post office mailbox today, so I hope you’ll have a complete set soon.

Envelopes from far and wide have arrived safely, full of colourful leaves – from Cathy L and Kathleen on 14th, from Ginny on the 18th, Laura R on 19th, from Jo and Kathy S on 20th, and Lori and Sophie on 21st.  Thank you to all.  We had an unseasonal three days of heavy rain last week that caused some localised flooding, including my letter box, but no harm done to any blocks!

In all the excitement of a new nephew’s arrival and preparations for traveling to Virginia to visit him, Helen forgot to blog that the oak leaf block she made was mailed to South Africa (over a week ago).  It should arrive any day now if it hasn’t already.
