With my recent winnings of the Stripes blocks, I quickly put together a top.  I added another 3 inches of white to the blocks and then set them together with a slight offset.  I like the effect so much that I used some stash fabric to make a second quilt along the same lines.  I think both will be easily quilted with some straight line quilting, when I get the chance.  Thanks, Sophie, for a very clean, graphic block to work with. This is how I used my “Stripe” blocks. By adding 4 of my own, I had enough for the “en pointe” setting. My daughter fell in love with it, so it will be her birthday present in May. My border is a new Carolyn Friedlander fabric; I had won a “giveaway” of her fabrics in a mini-charm pack and that led to a yardage of this fabric, which I think is perfect. Now it will go to my long-armer for her magic...

The final pack of blocks from my December winnings arrived today.  Thanks Pat K.  The blue and purple combination in your blocks is so soothing. Believe it or not, I have a quilt just about put together with these blocks.  I hope to have a flimsy ready to show you soon.  My quilt guild meeting for tonight was cancelled (how much snow can we possibly get this winter!!)  so I may have time to sew. I’d like to thank the following people for the stripe blocks that have arrived in the past few weeks.  They were from Ellen, Karen N., Maree and Sophie.   I’m waiting for only one more pack, but I haven’t let that stop me from already putting blocks together.  I hope to have something to show you soon.  This is a great scrappy quilt.  Thanks to all who play.

We had a heat wave of 32 F so I took the envelopes to the post office today. I can’t remember the names on the envelope since I wrote them several weeks ago. but provided you aren’t snowed in from the recent blizzard, the ETA for Ohio and Michigan is Saturday, Jan 25.
