I have finished the second quilt made from my tall ship...

The last block from Linda N was in my mailbox when I came home after visiting the Festival of Quilts, Birmingham, GB. Thanks for the photoes. They are very Norwegian from this time. Where is your husband’s family from? Now I have received all 37 (wasn’t that the number?)

Here’s what I created from some of the sailboats that I received from the June lotto. This is a commission quilt, and the sooner I finish and deliver it, the sooner I’ll get paid. I have 14 more sailboats in drydock (that is, in the still-full box of blocks). This is 58 x 69. I have a good idea of how I’ll quilt...

Today’s mail brought three ships from Debra in Texas. That makes 39! (The song “Shrimp Boats Are A-Comin'” keeps popping into my head.) Now I need to put ’em up on the design wall and see what happens as I begin working on the commission quilt. I think I want to use Tonya’s Letters (from Word Play quilts) and put the recipient’s name in the border…..

I dropped Maree’s two ships into the post yesterday. They don’t have far to go – unlike most, they won’t even have any water to ‘sail’ over.

I really enjoyed making these blocks, limiting myself to just four.  Did you notice that when you have stitched the six central HST together they could be used in either version?  I cut my initial squares a bit bigger, and trimmed them after sewing – rather that than be short!  Seeing I was a winner last month, these are being...

I made these blocks before June with the preview, but it took me 25 days to get it posted! I only managed two blocks since school is taking over my time for the time...
