I have managed 4 spokes so far and found them quite fast as compared to the Rising Sun from last month. They turned out quite well and the size is accurate. This is one month where a few words must paint a picture. No picture available as my camera is somewhere North of Bancroft Ontario in Algonquin Park…hope some bear doesn’t find it and eat it …Darn….wish me luck in having someone find it and then contact me…one...

The sunrise block has been a real effort for me. It could possibly even be a bit too advanced for a nearly beginner sewer. I decided to accept the challenge and give it a try in spite of my initial trepidation. ( I really wanted to buy some great Aqua fabric and this was my excuse) I am truly hoping my results are up to snuff. They are the best I could achieve. I did not clip the inside curves so, if the winner feels they want to pick them...

Well this is the block where an accurate 1/4″ seam allowance Really matters! Once I had that mastered these blocks worked up very easily and quickly. I needed to shim my 1/4″ foot at the shaft with a bit of cardboard and reposition my needle to really get the 1/4″ seam allowance…a consistent (scant) 3/16″ is not going to work for this one …you need to take the full 1/4″ seam allowance to achieve the...
