Spokes received
I’ve already received wonderful, colorful spokes blocks from Helen, Gail, Nann and Peggy. Thanks! And Peggy, I see you are from Alpine—-I went to high school in Demarest. Small world.

Read MoreI’d like to donate these blocks this month since I was so lucky last month to win the spokes blocks. Thanks in advance for those blocks. I can hardly wait to see...
Read MoreAfter some trial-and-error I decided to stick with the white background for all my sampler blocks, rather than doing some as white-on-blue. Here are the subsections I made with the May blocks. It’s coming along…. PS. I have 3 May blocks I didn’t post that are white bars on a blue background. If any of the May winers would like them, respond to this post and I’ll mail them off to...
Read MoreI had to struggle to make this come out the correct size, but in the end it worked out. I paper-pieced the rays first, and appliquéd the yellow center on pretty easily, but ran into challenges when I tried to reverse-applique the outside border onto the paper-pieced center. For my next block (for my own sampler) I think I will try to make the ray unit first and then appliqué that unit to a 14.5 x 7.5 rectangle. Then I will cut away the back,...
Read MoreHere are at the 9 blocks I need for the queen-sized quilt. The color’s a bit off, but they’re blue-and-white. I’m waiting until Sophie posts the June block before I make the May blocks for this quilt, because I can’t decide if they should be blue-on-white or white-on-blue. Still having...
Read MoreI am really liking how this is coming together! Sophie, do you think this quilt could be made as a quilt-as-you-go quilt? Would your design be messed up if these larger segments were to have a 1/2-inch sashing between them in final quilt? It’s just a thought…..I’ve seen several of them lately and was thinking about trying...
Read MoreHere are 3 of the the 4 Star Chain blocks (February) I made for my sampler quilt. Unfortunately, I spilled a little coffee on the 4th one as I was getting ready to take the photo, and had to do a quick rinse job on it. It’s now out in the sun drying, and I hope will soon be as good as new. So I’ve got 3 of the 5 months done and I just noticed from Sophie’s diagram for the queen size sampler that I have enough to assemble some...
Read MoreI escaped to my Guild retreat this past weekend and devoted myself to getting started on Sophie’s mod-mod quilt, which I’m making in blue-and-white in the queen size. Fun! My fellow quilters were very interested in what I was making, as they are usually a bit more traditional. I’m excited to be off on this new adventure. Thanks...
Read MoreSince I last posted I’ve received lovely bead-on-a-string blocks from Andi, Karen H., Shelley and Tracy. Thanks everyone! Also Tracy sent me a ticket for a raffle quilt her quilt guild will give away in August. What a great idea. I just looked at it on-line and I’ll be very happy to have that on my bed if I win. (Tracy also promised to mail it to me if I win….how nice is that???)
