Read MoreMy husbands grandmother hasn’t been doing well for a long time…..this morning we got the call that her lungs are full of fluid and her kidneys appear to have shut down. My mother happend to be visiting so I gave the blocks I made to her (christa burr) to send for me since her block is going to Terry as well. When she posts on this blog that her block was mailed from Virgina, you (Terry) can assume that mine are in the same...
Read MoreI LOVE this block! ….maybe because I love projects that involve precision and accuracy. I hope to submit more this month but my 2 year old is becoming more mobile (almost able to climb out of his crib and pack-n-play when he’s supposed to be napping)…..so my time for sewing projects may be limited to my son’s time with dad or grandparents. Regardless, I definitely have my fingers crossed for a first block lotto win....
Read MoreMy third and final block for July. I’ve got some other stuff that I need to finish up for the end of the month. Both my Mother in Law and Husband have birthdays (July 28th and 29th) coming up. This month’s block was fun to make and I am looking forward to making more blocks for my sampler. Read MoreI’m not usually this good about getting blocks out to the winners right away, but since I had to go to the post office anyway I quickly packed them up to send off at the same time. Laura, congratulations on winning and I hope you have fun with your blocks. I can’t wait to see what you create with them. Thanks. Helen Wahl in Nashville, TN
Read MoreHad time for a second block. It was definitely easier! I tried to get braver with sharper curves but it didn’t happen as much as I had intended……I’m going to keep trying! Helen Wahl in Nashville,...
Read MoreThis was definitely a challenge….not just the sewing but finding light background fabric. I want to be guideline follower so I hope that my background fabric is ok (it does read as a single color, light green, if you are looking at it from across the room – it’s not white like it looks in the picture)….. This block is my 3rd attempt. I tried to get too artsy the first 2 times but quickly realized that I needed to...
Read MoreI am a little behind on my sampler quilt and failed to save the directions for past blocks. Didn’t want to bug Sophie since she is still trying to get settle from her move. I was wondering if anyone might know how to get to the patterns for the past blocks for this year….if I remember right February was quilter’s choice and I have June so I wouldn’t need those. Thank you 🙂 Helen Wahl in sweltering hot (104 F)...

Read MoreOne done, one cut ready to sew (when my 2 year old lets me). I’m terrible at sewing diagonals so this was a good practice for me……hoping the second block will go smoother. Helen in Nashville, TN
Read MoreAlready had the blocks ready to go this morning so I dropped it by the post office after I took my son to the library. You should receive them no later than Thursday! Hope you enjoy them and Congratulations! Helen Wahl, Nashville, TN
Read MoreWhew, finally got my mother-in-laws quilt done! Just in time to sew 2 May blocks. I really enjoyed making this block but it was a challenge not making it real wonky (my preference). It looked challenging at first but was fun seeing it come together easily. Thank you again Sophie! I learned a lot again this month! btw…the blocks are perfectly square, I was in a hurry taking the picture and didn’t...
