Over the past few days, I have birdies from Sophie, Vivi and Wendy. Quite a flock accumulating up in my sewing room…

A bunch of birds have flown in over the past two days – Kathy S’s birds from the US (thanks for the diecuts, too – what fun!) and Maree’s from New Zealand (speedy birds).  They are so fun – can’t wait to see the rest of the flock!

Wow, can’t believe I won some of these blocks. I only had a chance to make one this month and plus, I just won a couple months ago, so I figured there was no likelihood at all. But I have to say, I’m so thrilled.  For one thing, I love this block and have been hoping to have time to make some for myself – now I won’t have to (might need to  make a few to even out the numbers but not a whole quilt worth).   Only one little lonely birdie for me this month. I had thought I might have time for a few more, but it just didn’t work that way. Partly, too, it’s the lack of the right blue fabrics. Last two sets of blocks arrived – hurrah!  Pat’s came yesterday (apparently, they walked!) and Rachel’s came the day before.  So now I have a complete set. The upside of that is that they are great blocks (I will photograph them together soon to show). The downside is I now have less excuse for not doing anything with them yet…

Another set arrived today, from Karen in South Africa, which means all but two have safely landed this side of the Atlantic. Hopefully the other two make it soon (sometimes post can be pretty slow – hard to predict).  Of course, once they are all here, I might have to start thinking about what to do with them…

Got blocks yesterday from Helen (one) and Kathy S (three) – these are going to look really lovely together.  Thanks to Kathy for the offcuts as well – I need more scraps (ha ha).

Just a quick note to say I’ve had my first set of blocks arrive (I expect most of mine will take longer than Marybeths to arrive due to being overseas from most of you) – anyway – I guess we had a good tailwind between Oregon and here as Kathleen’s blocks arrived on Thursday. I look forward to more heading my way soon  🙂  These will be fun to play with!
