3 more leaves

3 more leaves

Power went out today just as I was headed to my sewing room, so I used my time to cut out 3 more leaves and marked the diagonal lines on the background squares.  Of course, after it came back on, I HAD to sew them together!  This makes 6 for me so far. Oops!  Just noticed the flipped corner on the green block – it was a little breezy on the deck.  Guess you get the idea, anyway. Now back to machine quilting – I am hoping to have my...

My first 3 oak leaves

My first 3 oak leaves

I am going to go ahead and post these 3 blocks, although I am hoping to make some more this month – time slips by on me sometimes and I don’t want to forget.  I love leaf  blocks, and an autumn leaf quilt is on my “to do” list, so I will have my fingers crossed at drawing...

6 boomer blocks

6 boomer blocks

Here are 6 blocks for me this month.  Boy oh boy, lots of little pieces!  My first thought was to go for the foundation piecing, but decided to accept the challenge instead.  Glad I did.  The boys remind me of my 4 grandsons; added a couple of girls to keep them company....

All my birds have landed

I checked my PO box today, and my last tall birds, from Debra, have arrived, so my flock is now complete.  Hoping to find the perfect leaf print, to use as sashing, when I go to town this week.  I am planning to make two quilts, one for me and another for a bird loving friend.  Thanks again to everybody who sent me blocks – they are all beautiful and look great together.  Kathleen

2 ships for me

2 ships for me

I found time to make these two tall ships just in time for the virtual quilt.   I called them “ship by day and night” because the combination of fabrics and difference in the look of the reversed colors make me think of seeing them in daylight and darkness.  Will go ahead and publish them now, so I don’t forget.  Busy month ahead of me, don’t know if I’ll get a chance to make any more.  These are going to make a...
