Read MoreAfter being gone to my daughter’s all week, I came home to a whole PO box full of birds, from Christa, Glenna, Julie P, Lori, Mary Beth, Melissa, Nann, Pat K, and Sophie. They are all so beautiful, and I love all the cards and notes included too. ( I am pretty new to Block Lotto, and this is my first win.) I am going to go buy some post cards to mail with my blocks, that is so fun! My design wall is singing!
Read MoreSpent a pleasant Sunday afternoon trying out Sophie’s “4 geese at a time” method, which I had seen in books but never tried before. Used up some odds and ends fabrics, and mixed them up to get 9 different blocks. Since I was lucky enough to win the birds in April, I will donate these this...

Read MoreI am going to publish the 5 birds I have done, so that things don’t sneak up on me. I hope to make 4 more, but this looks like it will be a busy month – a couple of quilts I need to finish, plus gardening to get started as well. Love this block – I hope I...
Read MoreGot Sophie’s email just in time to drop my three blocks in the mail on the way through town today. Congratulations Erin, (and all the other winners too!), I hope you enjoy them, and looking forward to see what you make! Kathleen

Really like the individual blocks, but not too excited about them in combination, so will donate my chances this month to somebody who will enjoy them...

Read MoreOne of the things I really appreciate about Sophie’s designs are that she knows the usefulness of scraps. Here is a little quilt I made from the trimmings from this month’s string hearts. The triangle squares are leftovers from another project, too. It makes me think of the conversation candy hearts that are out for Valentine’s...

Read MoreHere are my 9 blocks for February. A word of warning to those who are still making this block – look before you sew the two halves together to make the heart, or your strings will point the wrong way (ask me how I know!) Loved using up some of my seemingly bottomless basket of string scraps. I know these are supposed to be random strips, which they were as I was using scraps. Sitting on the design wall, I notice that I seem to have...
