I mailed Maree’s blocks on April 14th. It wasn’t until I was in line at the Post Office that I realized I hadn’t trimmed the blocks.  I was leaving town the next day and decided it was better to get them in the mail than to hold onto them for another 2 weeks. It won’t happen again!

I first came across Block Lotto in April 2010, when I was looking for liberated quilting inspiration and found it in Sophie’s blog. Being someone who ‘never’ wins these kinds of things, I decided that I would make blocks of my own around a focus fabric (the purple fabric–which has green and teal vines) while participating in the Lotto. I took Julie’s sunrise blocks to the post office yesterday. With the holiday, I don’t know when they’ll get there, but soon. I meant to put a congratulations note in, but was rushing to the post office before it closed. I’ve never been this jealous of a BL winner!! Really interesting block and great color combinations. Enjoy!

Just in May  I was visiting my Mom’s sewing group and she was finishing up some NY Beauty quilt blocks.  Her friend asked if I quilted like my Mom and I said, “I would NEVER do a bunch of  complicated pieced blocks like that.  So I also groaned when I saw this month’s blocks. After walking around with the mailing label for two days and the stamped envelope for another two, I finally put the package for Julianne in the mailbox today.  (Don’t ask how many times I walked by the actual post office.)  Hopefully they’ll get to you late this coming week.
