Sailing on a Summers Day
Here are nine tall ships. I am donating my blocks this month. I loved learning how to do eight half square triangles at once. Even after some forty years of quilting there is still more to learn! Enjoy! Toni in...

Read MoreHere are my Tall Flys. Funny how these colors lend themselves to fruit and veggies. Remember Helen did tomatoes. Someone commented on how prolific I was. In the manner of full disclosure I have to admit that after 30 plus years of quilting I often make what I call “personal quilts” in the size of 54×60 or 64 x 70 rather than full size quilts. Also, please note the pieced backing. I am on a fabric “diet” and am using...
Read MoreI went to the PO today and….the Steps for Ginny and Jeanne are on their way from Oregon. Congratulations! It’s a great block.
Read MoreI know the Lotto drawing for the Steps hasn’t even happened yet, but I made some for myself and I have a finish to share. The first pictures was taken in the house and shows it complete, but the outside picture shows the colors better. Like Sophie, I seldom use black as a binding but the graphic feel and the grays in this quilt made me feel that the black would work. Pssst! I have to admit I did extra blocks of the “Tall Fly”,...
Read MoreI have a confession to make. I made a new quilt top. I’m not supposed to as long I’m behind on my 2013 UFO goal, but what the heck? It’s my rule. What happened is this…..Sophie issued the directions for our new Block Lotto for March. The block was simple, it had to incorporate gray and white, and another color of our choice. I was going through my scraps. This particular tub, has pinks, purples and blues. My intent...
Read MoreAnother good choice of block and color, Sophie! I have been working on Pineapple blocks which means lots of little pieces so it was nice to get to play with a simpler block. Once again, I made some for myself, as well as the group. When will I learn? When will I decrease my number of UFO’s? Oh well, I’m having fun. Here are the eight steps I am donating. Sorry it’s not a better pix. I have too many things on my design wall....

Read MoreHere are my nine Tall Fly’s. Another block and color combination I really like! So enter me in nine times! Darn! I didn’t win last month, but I do have 27 blocks completed and I’m going to finish a smallish quilt for me. Actually, it was only going to be about 36×45 but since I’ve decided to set them on the diagonal, it will be a bit larger, and I need a few more blocks. No problem! I like putting blocks together...
Read MoreI shipped my cup blocks off this morning to Terry in CA. Enjoy! I’m looking forward to seeing a finshed quilt…or at least a flimsy! Cheers!
Read MoreI finished my Star-Crossed Blocks. Another block that I really liked. Although I’ve quilted for years, Block Lotto helps me with continuing education! Because of the need for a medium value, a light value and a dark value I made myself learn how to change my digital camera to black and white AND also how to eliminate the color from my pictures on the computer. Besides the nine below, I did another eighteen. I figure if I don’t win...
Read MoreCongratulations! I’m envious. Yesterday I mailed three blocks each to the three winners. You should be seeing “squishies” soon. Cheers! Toni
