baby quilt almost done

baby quilt almost done

These are the blocks I won last summer. It was my first attempt at spiral circle quilting on the machine. It went well and will do it again one day. The binding isn’t on yet, but I couldn’t wait to show it. We had a lot of snow last night, I’ll go shovel a little, then start sewing on this snow day at...

Log cabin roses quilt finally finished

Log cabin roses quilt finally finished

This block was my first encounter with Block Lotto back in 2010, although I only started posting in 2012. My initial blocks used yellow roses but I really wanted purple tones for my quilt. The quilt has been sitting in the cupboard for several years, sandwiched and pinned. This week it was finally finished with in-the-ditch quilting plus some additional fancy stitching on the border and centres. Thanks Sophie for this introduction to the Block...

Purple Diamonds

In late November, my mother, aunt, and I threw a baby shower for my little sister, who is due in January.  I knew I wanted to make her a baby quilt, and had even earmarked the Split 9-Patch blocks for it.  With my visiting mother-in-law minding her grandsons, I was able to make this quilt in three days, the week of the shower.  My sister got all weepy when she opened the package.  I don’t know why – I’d warned her I would be...

Barn door blocks- now two tops

Barn door blocks- now two tops

I have made two tops out of my Barn Door blocks and have a few to use on the back of the larger. I played with two different but similar settings- both on point- but one with and one without sashing. The smaller will probably be donated to my guild’s comforters program. We donate 500 comforters of various sizes to a huge variety of charities. Thanks to all for such lovely blocks, Teresa  ...
