Read MoreFinally was able to make this quilt out of my winnings. I am thrilled how it turned out. It is hanging in a temporary place and and not hanging down all the way smooth. Also still have to do the hand sewing part on the sleeve and binding. I thought you would like to see it though. Very happy. Big THANKS to Sophie for organizing this all and giving us a beautiful pattern to try every month!...
Read MoreMy computer continues to “eat my photos.” I think the problem is with the Apple Photos application, but whatever/wherever it is, it’s darn frustrating. However I DID manage to finally put together the official version of the block pattern this month … then noticed that some of the photos I had uploaded to Flickr to resize and use in the pattern are now no longer on my computer … grumble grumble grumble. You can...

Read MoreThese are just a few of the blocks I won. The wonky strips in December? I wanted to use my own blocks that I had cut too small and mixed them with a few others. I still have the big quilt to put...
Read MoreHere is the third Block Lotto quilt finished. It took a lot of design wall play to figure out how these blocks wanted to live together. The blocks looked better to me when they were “fenced in” with my hand-dyed fabrics. Each one became its own quilt — and the workmanship showed up so nicely. My long-arm quilter, Charlene Koppenol, designed the pattern for the dark blocks. It looks like globes and fits the international flavor...

Read MoreSorry for the dark photo, I guess that part of my yard is shadier than I realized. I made a prior quilt using Wonky Strip blocks and decided to make another. This time I made a few more blocks with juvenile fabrics before sashing it with white. I used some solid brown fabric for the binding leftover from the Snails Trails blocks last month. I quilted it with my walking foot in the hanging diamonds pattern. This one will go to Quilts for...

Read MoreI got my Big O blocks from December of 2014 put together and finished! I’m really pleased with this quilt. A big thanks to everyone who made blocks for this. They look so great all together! I’m calling this quilt “Cheery O’s”. You can see more pictures on my blog post here. Sharon...
Read MoreCan anybody remember the Sweet Dreams blocks from September of 2014? Well, I was the winner of those blocks and I have finally completed my quilt. I used all the blocks, even the pink ones, and it looks great (this picture makes it look patchier than it looks in person, and colors are brighter). My husband loves...
Read MoreI’ve been a block lotto player since near the beginning. During this time I have won lots of blocks but have not managed to make quilts of them. Apparently I love making blocks but not so much quilts ;-). This year will be the beginning of the end of that nonsense. I am challenging myself to post a finished block lotto top every month this year and two completed quilts by year end. I generally do better when I put a challenge...
