Another Way to Look At It (Postage/Block Size)

Most of the blocks we make this year will be 7 inch squares (finished size). The March block is 14 inch square which is the equivalent of FOUR 7 inch squares.  Mailing one of those in an envelope is the  size and weight equivalent of mailing FOUR 7 inch blocks, which nobody complains so loudly about. Mailed my blocks. As the clerk went from one computer to another to get postage rates, I told her I was giving her a workout. She laughed. Blocks mailed for less than $2.15 each

I am pleased to report that Star Chain  blocks are heading to a Karen in South Africa and Dagmar in Germany. I used a  greeting card envelope that measured 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ to mail the blocks. Taking Sophie’s suggestion, I did not fold them on the seam. They fit perfectly and were very flat.  So much so, that the envelopes fit through the US Postal letter -size mail dimensional template 1/4 inch thickness window easily!...
