3 blocks in the mailbox for Rho.

Sent my hubby to town and mailed blocks off to Cyndi, Rho, and Lori today.  Congratulations ladies, enjoy!

I mailed the Tall Fly blocks to the three recipients on Saturday. Here are last month’s Crossed Stars, now a flimsy.   The swap provided nearly all the blocks I needed for this setting. I had to make only two additional blocks.  I think that the ruby-red tone-on-tone setting triangles are sufficient so I will not add borders. I have an intense turquoise fabric that will be excellent for the binding.  I think I have chosen the backing...

Tall Fly blocks were received today already from Nann.  Thanks, Nann!  Beautiful fabrics!

Sophie entrusted me with the responsibility of selecting the winners of the January blocks.  There were 234 blocks created, with 193 being entries in the drawing. (The others were donated or beyond the 9-per-player quota…..they were such fun blocks to make — it was hard to stop at 9.) Drum roll, please!  The random number generator turned up five numbers that belonged to Cyndi, Rho, Lori, and Christa, who have each won 49 blocks,...

I talked myself out of making more of these blocks because I have a Shoo Fly quilt I haven’t finished from when I got overexcited during a previous Block Lotto.  But since there were scraps, I enlarged Sophie’s block and made a new bag holder. The pics show it open and finished. I can’t believe that one lime fabric looks so yellow...
