Scraping in at the last minute! I enjoyed making these blocks, but they are a fraction smaller than 9.5″ x 6.5″, maybe it is the batik fabric, which is crisper and seems less flexible than other cotton fabrics.

Your blocks look good. I like your color choices.
I am a new quilter and I had the same issue with the size. I changed up my fabric and it worked out so I think you are right..
