I’m baaack!

Finally had a chance to make a block for the Lotto.  Unfortunately I failed to read the color directions because I was struggling so much with the paper piecing, so just grabbed some scraps in my sewing room (I used red but do not have a white-backed fabric.).  I’m donating this anyway, so Sophie you can add this to the winner if they want it.  I think it is in the “spirit” of the block.  I’ll “read twice, cut once” in the future!  This isn’t my first paper piecing, but I did have to rip out a lot; working “backwards” just confuses me for some reason. I used traditional turned under applique; I just cut out the paper pattern and used running stitches to pull up the extra, and then the school glue to glue down the edges; after hand applique, I cut from back and removed the paper.IMG_2418

  1. It’s pretty … but because it doesn’t follow the rules, I’m going to treat it as an extra and not include it in the official count of blocks for the winner. This may be a moot point since it looks like we might end up sending all these cool blocks to a single winner.
