A Quick Quilt

wonky strip quilt

Picture looks goofy for some reason but I wanted to share a quilt I made for the Quilts for Kids charity using some of my recently won Wonky Strip Blocks.   I’ve been on a roll with making kids’ quilts ever since Thanksgiving.  I had bought 4 yards of batting at Jo-Ann’s just for this purpose, and also to perfect machine sewn-on binding which I am now totally proficient at after making 12 donation quilts!  This is my first foray into making kids’ quilts, I usually make twin-sized and larger and I have to say these small ones have been a blast to make.  They finish up so quickly and are quite addicting. I see more on the horizon.

Thanks to Laura, Kate N. (it’s always a thrill to receive Royal Mail, I always feel so important!), Corinne, and Belinda for the Wonkies you sent!

  1. Love it and that binding looks great.

FYI, I edited your post to set the featured image so that it would expand in the slider at the top of the home page.

    • Thanks, Soph!

  2. Looks fabulous, boy do you work fast..I also see one of my blocks..

    • That’s always fun to spot. I sent in a block to the NASA astronaut who was collecting star blocks a few years ago and was thrilled when I saw it in the finished quilt via a picture!

  3. Such a neat quilt, Marianne! Goodness! 12 of them – a dozen kids are going to be so thrilled to have one.

    • Thanks, Angie!
