So, nothing like leaving it to the last minute…but I like this sort of block and always have loads of scraps on hand, and, more importantly, have finally finished the sewing project which was hanging over me, preventing me from feeling I could do anything else before it was done.   Finally a month where I had the three necessary factors to play: time, love of the blocks and the right fabrics!  So here are my nine blocks – and I’m sure I’ll be revisiting this block myself in other circumstances – it’s a really good one for using...

  After many months of not being able to play for one reason or another, I finally had a chance to make a couple of blocks for the lotto. I’ve told myself I might do a few more before the end of the month, but that’s probably not a very realistic goal, with several more University Open days coming up, plus an 18th birthday celebration… Not to mention work!  Still, here are some orange tulips and some purple tulips to join...

As it happens, I have something else to go to the post office this morning, so Sophie’s April mailing instructions were well timed for me and I can get my blocks for Barbara in the post straight away. Of course, they can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to get there from London, depending, but this time of year, it’s usually closer to the former than the latter!

It’s not been a good year for me in terms of playing the block lotto – some months, I’ve just been really busy, and some months I’ve been uninspired or the blocks just weren’t me. Only one block made for the blocklotto this month – I had originally intended to do more, but actually, almost all the black and white prints I have are unsuitable – they either contain a little of some other colour or they are so evenly split between black and white that they don’t really look black or white, which makes them hard to use in this situation.
