4 chevrons to donate

4 chevrons to donate

I had a nice couple of days at our Guild’s annual quilt retreat, and managed to make these, among other projects.  I like this block and hope to start making some of my own.  These are to donate, as I still have too many UFOs in...

tall red star experiment

tall red star experiment

I’ve been focusing on finishing my “row along” quilt to enter in the Dallas Quilt show, so haven’t let myself play with the tall red star blocks that I won in the fall, but this weekend I’m going to a quilt retreat so may have time to play with them.  So I got them out tonight and laid them out in columns on some dark green fabric I have in mind for vertical sashing.  The light doesn’t do them justice, but my...

We have two winners of the baskets!

Sophie sent me the random number generator, and the lucky numbers were 30 and 8, which means that Laura R. receives 38 blocks and Cathy L receives 37 blocks.  Sophie will be sending everyone instructions.  I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, and are enjoying this long weekend (I hope it’s long for you). Lots of photos here:...

recent progress on UFOs using Sophie birds

The first two photos above are pics of work in progress on the Lori Holt Row along, featuring a row of Sophie birds from a couple of months ago. (I haven’t done the white sashing so just laid these rows on some white fabric).   At first I was going to have the birds facing the center, but when I began sorting them, I realized they sort of...

tall stars in the Lone Star state

I returned home from a business trip to Iowa (including a side trip to the Amana Colonies (bought some fabric at its quilt shop), to find wonderful stars from Elizabeth C in Michigan, Laura J. R. in Georgia, Elizabeth in Connecticut, Nann in Illinois and Peggy in New Jersey.  Thank you for beautiful workmanship, fabric selection and design.  I think these will become a Christmas quilt (or two) for my adult children.  I can hardly wait to see...
